Biography

Matt Vasey is currently responsible for IoT business development at Microsoft, working with a cross-functional team to continue to build out the ecosystem of technology partners, standards bodies, and other innovation catalysts that are required for the new generation of IoT applications, services, and systems that serve both individuals and businesses. He also serves as an officer and board member on the OpenFog Consortium, and was instrumental in the formation of this organization working closely with other founders from Intel, ARM, Cisco, Dell and Princeton University.

Previous roles within Microsoft include leading the Americas OEM (Windows) Embedded Sales team working with industrial OEMs to build a wide variety of industrial and consumer devices across a range of vertical industries. As an alliance manager within Microsoft’s Enterprise Partner Group he led global sales and marketing efforts with HP.

Outside of Microsoft, Mr. Vasey has led regional and national sales teams for leading technology firms, driving revenue and business expansions ranging from startups to $1B+ revenue public companies. While at ODIN (an Ingram Micro company) he drove business and corporate development with Tier 1 investment banks, venture capital firms and technology partners. Mr. Vasey earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Trent University in Canada.
